JIGS ARE BACK IN STOCK!!! GET YOURS NOW!!!
The Nova Tool Jig is now the FW Ams™ jig, See it in use now!!!
This is the best jig on the market. No more getting only 2-3 builds out of a jig before the guide holes get oval and don’t keep your drill in the right spot.
This drill jig, brought to you by FW Arms™, is an extremely easy to use tool, and removes the most amount of material from your FW Arms™ brand 80% AR-15 thus limiting the amount of finish rotary tool/file work.
With our jig, experienced builders can finish in as little as 30 minutes with great finishes. This means less time in the garage, and more time at the range enjoying your work.
What sets the FW Arms™ jig apart from others on the market are three things:
1: The FW Arms™ 80% jig uses case hardened steel plates for drill guides instead of anodized aluminum (or bare) like our competitors. These are made to last for multiple builds. You can sell the jig to your buddy when you’re done with your builds.
2: The FW Arms™ 80% jig has 6 plates + a finish guide plate to remove 95% of the material with your drill press. We don’t like using rotary tools and files to finish work if we can help it. With the FW Arms™ 80% jig you will get a nice flat bottom, with clean sides so you can use your favorite drop in trigger without any extra work.
3: The FW Arms™ 80% jig uses precision ground shoulder screws to locate the drill plates on the mating fixture. When you use a FW Arms™ 80% jig, you can have the confidence that your trigger well will be parallel with your lower as it should be.
Some people have asked “The other jigs out there have only 3 plates, yours has a total of 8; is the FW Arms™ jig harder to use, does it take longer?” No, the FW Arms™ jig is actually easier to use, and will give you better results, and in less time overall. Any tool & die maker will tell you that the quality of the finished product is more important than the time it takes to achieve that. You can watch all the videos you want of people completing their lowers, but the good builds are from people that have valued quality over time, much of that using a rotary tool to clean the sides. I have done many testing sessions with the FW Arms™ jig, I can complete the process in about 30 minutes, with no rotary tool work, and about 5 minutes worth of filing on the trigger slot with a jewelers file. Your first build may take 2 hours…who cares, you want a good final product; you don’t want to be the person at the range who has the wonky trigger that’s always causing issues. When you know what to expect when finishing a lower, that’s when your speed increases.
The FW Arms™ jig WILL NOT remove any material needed to insert auto sear. I thought long and hard about including the plates that will remove this material, and in the end decided that there are a few reasons that made me not want to do that.
1: If you are planning on installing an auto sear, then you have your Class III stamp since your firearm will fall within the scope of the NFA. Due to the rules of the NFA, you will lose one of the great benefits of finishing your own lower which is keeping the government from sticking their nose into your privacy. It is 100% legal to build your own as per the GCA of 1968 as long as you are not a person prohibited from owning/possessing a firearm. Always check state and local laws prior to purchase so you are aware of any regulations pertaining to home built firearms. (CA I’m looking at you…)
2: Extra plates means more costs for the buyer, why should you pay for something only a handful of people will benefit from.
That being said…
This kit includes the following:
2 side plates w/ drill bushings guides for trigger pins and safety, each side has bushings.
6 drill guide plates for material removal
1 contour guide plate for final contour material removal procedure
The following endmills – 3/8″ x 3/8″ dia of cut with set-to-go depth bushing, and 5/16″ x 5/16″ dia of cut (one of each)
2 long shoulder screws
2 short shoulder screws
We now have Cobalt drills you can add as an option. These drills will last longer than your average high speed steel drill.
Add on the foot pedal option and you will have the absolute best built experience you have ever had!
The foot pedal allows the user to operate their press with their foot. Depress the pedal and the press will stay on until the user releases the pedal. The pedals we offer are momentary power pedals, meaning power is only supplied when the pedal is depressed.
